double “oops!”

December 3, 2025

I made two mistakes of note in my post yesterday. My dread of winter is so onerous that I misrepresented its span by 10 percent. December, January and February, point of fact, add up to 90 days, not 100 as I alleged. The title should have read “one down, 89 to go”. So, two down, 88 to go today.

The second mistake was referring to the U.S. Navy admiral involved in the “second strike” brouhaha as Milton Bradley, asserting that I wasn’t making up that name. Turns out I was making it up. Admiral Bradley is Frank “Mitch” Bradley. So, Mitch, if you’re reading this, my bad.

The brouhaha continues to brew. Secretary of Defense and War Pete Hegseth risked compromising military info this March when he used Signal to share highly-sensitive attack plans targeting Houthi rebels in Yemen. I don’t know Signal from Shinola, but I know it’s an open source service, so Heggy did a bad, bad thing. The plot, like Trump’s ankles, thickens.
