are you still watching this space?
Happy Canada Day and 4th of July, folks. As a Permanent Resident of Canada and
a U.S. citizen, I get to have a four-day holiday weekend. Jude, Nathan and I are soon
off to the big island celebration, but I wanted to update you on the hot house/hen
house project.
All the materials are gathered and some of the prep work is done. Here are some of
the newly-painted plywood walls-t0-be drying in some rare sunlight:
I had another photo I wanted to share that showed the boards that will be used for
the nesting boxes, but modern technology, an old-fashioned rainstorm and time
constraints won’t allow. We need to get going to the celebration, where Jude and I
will be official greeters. It should be memorable, given the aforementioned storm.

I hope you have a lovely holiday weekend! It’s going to be as hot as 120 in the Valley this weekend, which makes me want to just move in with you. So. Head’s up! 😀
We’ll keep the light on, although at this time of year here, it doesn’t get dark until 11 p.m. or so. I hope you got off the Valley floor to Prescott or Flag or higher altitudes.
Gee, Allen – – I’d GLADLY trade ya’ll some sunshine and hot weather for some of your rain – ha!
We got our sunshine today, with more on its way. If climate change here means cool, rainy summers, I can easily adjust. It’s superb weather for working outside. If I’d stayed in the South, I’d probably look like a piece of beef jerky by now. Our class used to have its reunions in June. I almost melted.
