apocalypse soon enough
The crowds are still swelling across the U.S. right now, but it’s looking like protests against Trump’s tariffs will be impressive. The damage Aging Orange is doing will be massive, but he showed his trademark compassion by attending an LIV golf tournament, passing up the return of the bodies of four soldiers who died recently in Lithuania.
The four, PFC Dante Taitano and SSgts. Jose Duenez Jr., Edvin Franco and Troy Knutsen-Collins, died trying to recover a truck that had broken down in a swamp. With typical cluelessness, Trump dispatched Pete Hegseth, his embattled Secretary of Defense, to receive the remains. I hope Hegseth didn’t shake hands with anyone. The Harvard and Princeton graduate doesn’t wash his because he doesn’t believe in germs, reasoning that he’d never seen any.
There may be no bottom to the rabbit hole Trump is pulling the world into. As erratically as he behaves, he can be counted on to double down on his dreadful choices. And the tariffs are his worst choice yet.
