Neighbour Jay did indeed finish clearing out the rest of the salmonberry thicket
along the creek Tuesday, so this:
is gone, yielding to the much more photogenic creek,
which is the valley floor conclusion of this:
There is plenty of debris yet to clear, but I already have a spot next to a mini-beach
picked out for the hammock. The clearing out also created a better view of this old
potting shed:
It’s charming in a way but dangerous in a more pragmatic way. It goes down soon.
So now all the ground we wanted scraped is scraped. That opens up a dozen new
projects for us, to add to the dozens we’ve already started. All our warm weather
work waits for us, as we wait for warmer weather to dry up the new swamps we’ve
made.
And that will be soon. It was sunny yesterday until it poured. It’s sunny today.
O brave new world! The outdoors calls and I must respond. But first I think I’ll
take a nap. Where’s that hammock?
