stretching toward home
I think millions will breath a hurricane-force sigh of relief when the mid-terms are over. Trump will remain unbearable, but hopefully in smaller doses. His tour of the reddest districts isn’t really packing them in. He still draw thousands, but in smaller venues that often shows empty seats. And those crowds seem to be getting younger and whiter The expressions on many remind me of the line from comic Father John Misty: “He used to do acid and then he found Jesus, but the look on his face is the same.”
You can only get so much mileage from Nikki Minaj’s ass.
Aging Orange may well fare better than predicted. There is something to that Silent Majority thing. Hopefully it will be more silent than majority. But only his most ardent lackies, like Scott Bessent and Kevin Hassett, are still insisting that we pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. JD Vance is still all in, as he must be. I don’t think he’ll ever get the stench of DJT off him.
Kudos to Obama for closing the deal. No one triggers Trump like Barack. It’s comical, really.
So I’m going to rest up, take plenty of vitamins and prepare for a long night on November 3rd. I’ve been disappointed countless times before, so I only hope for the most statistically likely probability: the Dems will win back the House. And that’s the most important one. Any other gains will be gravy.
