pardon my math

November 16, 2022

When I blogged yesterday, I predicted that the Repubs would win the House 225 – 213. I meant to type 222 instead 225 for the GOPers, but my speculation may have been more idle than usual. I thought Lauren Boebert’s race had been called for her. It hasn’t been. It’s still extremely tight. I might still get a chance to ridicule her. The Pachyderms will definitely win, though the margin might be slim enough to encourage bipartisanship.

The only surprise to Trump’s announcement was its blandness. It was an update of his “American carnage” inauguration speech, read off the teleprompter as if he was seeing it for the first time. Even if the Steves (Bannon and Miller) didn’t write it, it was chock full of the usual exaggerations and lies. Daniel Dale fact-checked the bejesus out of it on CNN. Trump was remarkably subdued and the Mar-a-Lago crowd — certainly his most loyal and richest supporters — lacked the rowdy adoration of a typical rally.

But I bet the Democrat powers-that-be were cheering wildly at home.

again, DJT looked old and exhausted: speech sucked pond water and people still love him for some reasons I cannot fathom….
