can we afford to eat here?, part 3
You remember Fred and Sheri, don’t you? Here they are in April with Jude, by the Oyster
River.
This was at the start of a four-month
celebration of Fred’s birthday, marked
by a fantastic meal Sheri cooked. Last
week she topped herself with a cascade
of cannellonis. Yesterday she did even
better, organizing a cookout for 30 or
so people.
This event had everything: fantastic grilled steaks (including moose), garlic bread, corn on
the cob, sparkling conversation, celebrities and Celtic dancing. The dancing was provided
by Fred’s granddaughter, who dazzled the crowd with some truly nifty footwork. The celebs
were stars from the cast of a recent Quadra production of Little Shop of Horrors.
Jude and I actually got to talk to them. I’m pleased to report they are really down-to-earth
folks, making us feel very comfortable. I think it helped that we have known them for several
years.
So, hats off to Sheri. She expertly created a memorable experience, smoothly handling every
problem. When it started raining, she moved us under a picnic shelter. I never would have
thought of that. I hope she continues to perfect her skill set, and I hope that Fred has another
long birthday next year.

Thanks Allen, this was very nice of you. Sure glad you and Jude made it.
Sheri
You’re most welcome, ShEri. I apologize for the mispelling of your name. Those responsible have been keelhauled in the pond. It won’t happen again. Say “hello” to Frad.
