down the home stretch, even if I can’t see it
So we gotten through Valentine’s Day, most of the Olympics and half of Presidents’ Day (U.S.)/Family Day (most of Canada) and must now grind through the last 13.5 days of meteorological winter. I can’t remember a year I’ve looked forward to March 1st more. We’ve had a much milder than usual winter on the farm, but today it’s snowing like the season has to make quota by then.
Until today we’d only had 10 cm (4 inches) of the flaky stuff. We’ve already had that and more since midnight with no let-up in sight. And, although we’ve stayed above freezing most of the past three months, we’re supposed to dip well below that for several nights.
We’ve still got internet service but the storm has knocked out our satellite TV. It can’t find a receptive transponder. This is definitely a day to read and nap by the woodstove. And it’s a chance for me to call bullshit on myself for recently dissing the film Melania. Although it has been savaged by critics, it has overperformed at the box office. To date it has pulled in $15.8 million. It will not earn back the $75 million production and advertising outlay, nor likely surpass the $936+ million Star Wars VII banked. But audiences liked it, so there’s that. I will remember it for the $28 million Melania the person pocketed as a producer.
Glad to hear that you’re getting some flakes, we’re warmer than San Diego for the next few days….😾
Ah, life in Kansas…False Spring #2!! The price you pay for living in Paradise!!!😎

I suppose it only makes sense that magats would flock to see that film. If you’re maladjusted enough to see DT as worth a second look … why wouldnt you. They seem easily impressed by tasteless shit. – Kate
