Pollster Frank Luntz was right. Yesterday’s election did send shockwaves through the U.S. We’re feeling them all the way up here in British Columbia, accompanied by the thunderous creaking sound of history pivoting toward the sun.

The Democrats have got to be pleased with the mandate just handed them, and Republicans now have sound reason to look at life beyond Trump. Aging Orange can do little but double down with his trademark hysteria, which diminishes with each repetition. Even the Supreme Court is questioning the validity of his tariffs. The more people call him on his bullshit, the more he panics. It’s a great time to be alive.

My favourite moment in yesterday’s election coverage was when a reporter shared that she had asked a voter leaving the polls what brought her out. She said simply “the East Wing”.
