still thinking of you, Eddie
I hope that Memorial Day in the U.S. is a time of reflection today. Please keep Eddie Weekfall in mind. He was a Marine boot camp buddy of mine who was killed in Vietnam. Like me, he came from a family that couldn’t afford bone spurs for their son. That absurdity, and Trump’s callous dismissal of American military who died in war as “losers” and “suckers”, echoes endlessly as he continues to trash just about anything he can get his hands on.
I stay generally aghast at Aging Orange’s power grab, but contact with family and friends south of the 49th helps mitigate that fear. They are grinding it out despite his transgressions. Also, my beloved San Francisco Giants are having a good season thus far, so hope springs eternal, at least in the spring.
We continue to have a much wetter than usual May. Despite it dampening our chance to do outdoor chores, we welcome any precipitation because it shortens any drought we might have before the autumn rains return. Nature rules on our farm, and we honour its sovereignty.

How about that reframing of the birthday parade on June 14 from his birthday parade ala Putin and Hitler with huge numbers of soldiers and military equipment to now being called a parade for the army costing millions of dollars.
Judith
Hi, Judith. Trump’s usurping of the parade is the apex of vanity and the nadir of disrespect. I hope it will serve as Aging Orange’s most frivolous waste of money and start to turn the heads of his most stalwart supporters, but they continue to revel in “owning the libs”.
