here’s to you, Mister Robinson

I deeply believe that yesterday will be regarded by historians as a major turning point in this presidential campaign. The tone of the two parties could not have been much more opposite each other. Kamala Harris’s sit-down with Oprah was brimming with hope and empathy as Trump crony Mark Robinson sputtered a laughably lame denial of loathsome comments.

Harris reiterated that she is a gun owner, adding that any intruders in her home would be shot, AND showed compassion talking with the family of Amber Nicole Thurman. In 2022, the 28-year-old Thurman left her home in Georgia, where abortion is banned, to seek help. She obtained mifepristone and misoprostol and returned home. When complications from the medication arose, she was admitted to Piedmont Henry Hospital in Woodbridge, Georgia. Doctors there waited 20 hours for legal permission to perform a procedure. Thurman developed sepsis and died on the operating table. A state maternal mortality review committee deemed her death preventable.

Elsewhere, North Carolina GOP Lieutenant Governour and gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson has been outed for odious comments he made in the forum of a porn website. Identifying as “Black Nazi”, he expressed support for Hitler and for reinstating slavery. Besides espousing numerous conspiracy theories, he is anti-LGBTQ/atheist/Islam/semitic, among other things. He is, however, for racism.

This is a huge problem for Trump. Aging Orange has called Robinson a “hot politician”, a “good friend” and “Martin Luther King on steroids”. Robinson has passed the deadline for dropping out of the gubernatorial race. Plus he’s too busy blaming AI and, of course, the Democrats, for his problems. He could cause the Repubs to lose North Carolina. If he does, likely Donny John would lose it all.
