That big wind that you may have just felt from the north was not in fact an Alberta Clipper. It was me exhaling in relief from hearing that Biden has dropped out of the race. I had planned to blog today in a post entitled “Two Old Farts”, expressing my dismay that the choice in November would be between a rapidly declining incumbent and a felonious wannabe monarch.
It will still be an uphill battle for the Democrats, what with Trump aggrandizing the assassination attempt every chance. It’s already gone from an actual few streaks of blood to “blood pouring everywhere”. But whoever the Dems choose will fare better than Biden.
It’s unclear if Kamala Harris is guaranteed the spot. If so, she would be a formidable foe. She has spent her whole life contending with misogynistic white men. She could thump Trump in the debates, even make his age an issue. A recent poll showed she had a four point advantage over Aging Orange among independent voters, whereas Trump had a five point advantage over Biden.
So now the Dems can start healing and planning. This will be a tremendous boost for the down ballot candidates. Biden can rest knowing that he retired with a respectable legacy. I don’t say this much as an agnostic, but God bless you, sir. Or, as my recently departed friend Wade would say, Random Chance bless you.

I was never a supporter of Biden. I am a Bernie Girl. Kamala I don’t think can stand up to Trump in a debate. The Democrats have spent the last 4 years twiddling their thumps not grooming anyone to be president and fighting off young progressive potential candidates.
Where does Kamala stand on Israel?
Bernie is still fighting for Democrats when he should be the one running and bringing along his young supporters.
I love Bernie and his purity and tenacity, but they’re not going to replace an 81-year-old with an 83-year-old. He will likely figure prominently in Harris’s campaign.

As I have told several folks, some of which were offended I believe, at least now the Dems can and SHOULD focus about 30% of their campaigning on how OLD, PHYSICALLY IMPAIRED and MENTALLY UNSOUND(both in cognitive decline and in his diagnosable personality disorders-he easily qualifies for a couple), as well focusing the rest of the campaign time on his dismal record while President-including illegal immigration actually went UP from Obama era, mishandling of COVID, being the actual start of inflation actions, failing to build a wall, etc.-plus his obvious connections to the Project 2025 of the Heritage Foundation (same, more or less, as the GOP convention-approved platform and Trumps own “Plan 47”) that turns us into an autocracy ready-made for oligarchs. I think Joe needs to re-open the “Russia. Russia. Russia.” investigations…maybe send DJT to go through Navy Seal training…

Agreed, JB. Harris could (and hopefully will) pound Aging Orange on any or all of these issues. And I could see Trump as a seal. Not a member of the Navy’s elite special operations force, but as a blubbering, blubbery pinniped. Semper Fi
